Hamnanova is a short-distance peak in Jølster that gives a lot of profit for every meter of height you gain! Tour start at gravel hole/sand outlet in Dvergsdalsdalen. You walk on a stone-paved path on the west-facing side all the way up. It becomes snow-free relatively early in the spring, and the paving ensures that you walk relatively dry even on wet days. The viewpoint at the top is at about 750 m above sea level. directly above the hamlet of Sunde by the Kjøsnesfjord bridge. At the top, you get a wonderful view of Jølstravatnet, Skei bay, Kjøsnesfjorden and Dvergsdaldsalen. You also look directly at the mountain Kollen (on the map it is called Kleivafjellet), which is one of the most famous motifs of the artist Nikolai Astrup. You can choose to go down the same road, or go on the path over Hamnanova and down the path via Djupeskaret (which is the GPS track). When you go backwards, it can be worthwhile to go off the path (track).
This is the perfect and ultimate evening tour for those who want to exercise every day, and a short summit tour with panoramic views for families with children. About 30-45 minutes up, and 20-25 minutes down.
Hiking tip for those who want to go on a longer hike is to go further along the ridge towards Nyken, Djupeskaret, Sundsheia, Snøfjellet, Sundsheia, Støylsnova, Tverrfjellet and Salsegga. Here it is easy “back terrain” to walk in while you have a great view all the way along the ridge as you walk towards Grovabreen. From Salsegga you can walk in a westerly direction in some marshy terrain down to Fagredalen. Here you will be able to follow the forest road and the road down to the sand roof where you parked the car.
